In reality, this is a magnetic plate that lifts off easily and is where you access the swappable battery compartment. On the left earcup, the Turtle Beach logo is printed across the middle. From the side, the earcups almost look suspended within the stylish gunmetal gray aluminum that holds them in place. They also swivel outwards slightly as well.

The earcups are attached to the headband on a swivel, allowing the earcups to swivel inwards a full 90° for laying flat against your chest when around your neck. Each end is adjustable by about 1 1/4″, giving an extra 2 1/2″ of “length” for the best fit possible. As with most headsets, each end of the headband can be pulled down to expand it for a better fit if you have a larger head. It’s not overly thick, but more than enough to be comfortable, even after extended periods of wear. On the underside, the entire area is outfitted with leatherette-wrapped memory foam. The outer headband has a nice soft smooth finish on it and has the Turtle Beach wordmark stamped into it.
